Synopsis

A large, unkempt stray dog attached himself to Steve Douglas, and made his departure from home an ordeal with persistent howls. A neighbor, known for her fondness of lost animals, was pleased to hear that Steve intended to care for the dog until its owner could be located, rather than relinquishing it to a shelter. Still, the dog continued to view Steve as both caretaker and something akin to a mother figure.
