Synopsis

Uncle Charley and Barbara had begun to suspect a deepening attachment between Chip and Polly. Burdened by the rigid atmosphere at home, Polly feared that her parents’ interference would drive them apart; she confessed her anxieties to Chip and, in a moment of desperation, suggested they run away together. Surprised by this impulsive request, Chip sought his father's counsel.
