The visuals and camerawork were impressive, even if they occasionally felt excessive with all the unusual angles and tilted perspectives. The musical score was serviceable and generally matched the scenes, though nothing particularly memorable emerged from it. Ultimately, the series felt like a low-budget combination of Thirty-Nine (2022) and My Mister (2018), missing any real depth or originality. The narration segments were uneven; some moments resonated perfectly with the tone, while others seemed like pretentious and meaningless writing. There was a missed chance to distribute these narrations among other characters, as they were primarily delivered by Yeom Mi Jung. The conclusion of episode 2 gave off a sense of being an ostentatious production that couldn’t maintain its footing, hinting at contrived plot developments and attention-seeking tactics. This created a constant contradiction throughout the series. I found their handling of the ending disappointing; it would have been better to simply conclude things rather than prolonging them unnecessarily. It's unfair to attribute these issues to pacing—both the writer and director have successfully created slow-paced shows in the past, but this one fell short, compromising other crucial elements. Despite its length of 16 episodes, many characters lacked sufficient development, seemingly overshadowed by less important slice-of-life scenes. A significant shift around episodes 13 and 14 was handled very clumsily and felt like a way for the writer to avoid a creative block. This left a lasting negative impression on what could have been a good series. While there were things to enjoy, it didn't fully live up to its promise.
