I had found reasons to avoid this series initially, largely due to the promotional material—it just didn't seem relevant to my interests. I honestly wasn't planning on giving it a try. However, I became quite invested in Elliot’s social awkwardness and his difficulty relating to others. The show was genuinely absorbing and held my attention completely. That describes the first season, though. The second season felt disconnected from the initial storyline and purpose of the first one. I found the second season disappointing, but I'm glad that the third season turned out to be quite enjoyable. I was happy to discover how well-developed the characters were, and the plot felt very real. It’s something I would definitely watch again!
