I found Motherland: Fort Salem quite intriguing; it’s reminiscent of a combination of Charmed and Jarhead. The show feels like something you'd expect from SyFy, similar to shows like Firefly, Dark Matter, Wynonna Earp, or Van Helsing—it features a varied cast. However, I was let down by the fact that their abilities originate from vocalization, almost as if they were sirens or banshees. It seems pointless to call them witches when there’s no spellcasting involved; I assumed there would be something of that nature. That's just my perspective, though—it was still enjoyable overall. The conclusion, with its last-minute surprise, wasn't unexpected on my part. But the rest of the plot is what I'm hoping to see explored further in a potential second season.
