Synopsis

The undertaking of connecting Britain and France via a tunnel beneath the English Channel presented an immense and intricate challenge. It required eighteen months simply to engineer and construct the Tunnel Boring Machines, each with a diameter of twenty-eight feet, and almost another year to assemble and position them within the earth. *Modern Marvels* follows the entire process, from its inception to completion.
