Synopsis

Drawing from Edith Iglauer's book *Denison’s Ice Road*, the program explored the perilous work of transporting goods by truck across frozen lakes – what are known as ice roads – in Canada’s Northwest Territories. Following the year 2000, repeat broadcasts of the documentary were incorporated into the series *Modern Marvels*, rather than airing under the titles *Suicide Missions* or *Dangerous Missions*.
