Synopsis

A friend of Hammer’s, someone he’d known for years, had her wallet taken. He was bewildered by her reluctance to involve the authorities. The matter, it seemed, was far more complicated than a simple theft; it involved escorts, diplomats, blackmail, and the shadowy world of military intelligence.
