Synopsis

The re-emergence of a traditional festival in Midsomer Parva brings with it a series of terrible events. The curate is found burned within a straw effigy of a woman. Meanwhile, at the Manor House, local landowner Alan Clifford hosts a gathering, and an air of concealed secrets hangs about him. Shortly thereafter, the curate’s lover, Reverend Jim Hale, dies under mysterious circumstances – a sudden burst into flames, described as spontaneous combustion.
