Synopsis

Julian Shepherd, his fortune largely tied up in Charles Edmonton’s latest invention, was discovered drowned. The circumstances strongly suggested suicide, a consequence of financial distress. Soon after, a villager known for pilfering peregrine falcon eggs from Charles's widow also perished. Barnaby and Troy were tasked with uncovering the truth behind these deaths.
