Synopsis

The disappearance of a tax inspector drew Barnaby and Jones into a perplexing case. He had been investigating the production of a strong, illegal cider, a beverage surprisingly popular with the villagers of Midsomer Abbas. Their investigation took a grim turn when the inspector’s body was discovered floating in a vat at the village spring fair, a fair where Barnaby and Jones had been sampling the very cider he sought to trace. A murder investigation was now underway.
