Synopsis

Nick Cheney had once commanded the screen, a director of some repute. Now, his days were largely spent guiding productions of modest means. We find him at Magna Manor, directing *The Scarlet Pimpernel*. A former convict, Jed Norris, now employed as security, is on the set one night when he discovers the director dead, his head severed by a guillotine.
