Synopsis

Was it a suicide pact, or murder? Barnaby quickly learns it is the latter when the body of a young man is discovered in a hangar at a forgotten World War Two airfield. Adding to the mystery is the puzzling disappearance of the victim’s girlfriend, Laura Sharp. Despite a reputation tinged with doubt, she was well-liked by many in the community. Barnaby must delve beneath the placid surface of Morton Fendle to uncover what Laura truly represented to its people, and whether someone among them might
