Synopsis

Joe harbored a quiet apprehension that childcare would effectively preclude any possibility of romance. Mel, meanwhile, fretted that Joe’s despondency would mean an end to their shared culinary indulgences, and so she fabricated a scenario to coax him into a date with a woman from her college days. Joe found himself obligated to maintain the pretense, a necessary deception to support Mel in her work.
