Similar to "Kill to Love," “Meet me at the Blossom” is a Chinese series set in a historical period that some people would describe as a bromance instead of a BL romance. I understand this type of show isn’t for everyone, but I do enjoy it. Regardless of any criticisms about the plot—which is fairly standard for non-BL Chinese series—the production values are truly impressive in both shows. The acting is also excellent, because Chinese series usually cast seasoned and attractive actors; not just Li Le, who portrays Huai En, and Wang Yun Kai as Xiao Bao, but also Kou Wei Long and Li Yi Mu, who have smaller roles here but later went on to play leading parts in “I’ll Turn Back this Time,” a mystery series. Kou Wei Long was also in a supporting part in "To my Shore."
