Synopsis

The morning of February 1st, 1991, USAir Flight 1493 collided with a stationary SkyWest Airlines aircraft on the runway, resulting in the deaths of thirty-four people. The tragedy occurred due to an error by an air traffic controller, who had inadvertently directed the incoming Flight 1493 to land on a runway occupied by SkyWest Flight 5569, poised for departure.
