Synopsis

On August 16, 1987, Northwest Airlines Flight 255 stalled moments after lifting from Detroit Metropolitan Airport, crashing shortly beyond the runway. The disaster claimed the lives of 154 of the 155 people aboard, along with two individuals on the ground. Subsequent investigation revealed that the pilots had failed to properly configure the aircraft's flaps and slats in preparation for takeoff.
