Synopsis

On the morning of August 22nd, 1985, an engine on British Airtours Flight 28M failed during takeoff. The failure ruptured a wing fuel tank, igniting a fire. The flight crew managed to abort the takeoff and bring the aircraft to a stop on the runway, but the fire quickly spread into the cabin.
