Synopsis

As the Vietnam War drew to a close, the United States initiated Operation Babylift, a large-scale evacuation of children from the conflict zone. On April 4th, 1975, the inaugural flight of Babylift ended in disaster when a Lockheed C-5 Galaxy, carrying 314 people, crashed during an emergency landing at Tan Son Nhut Air Base in South Vietnam, resulting in the loss of 138 lives.
