Synopsis

Smoke began to fill the cabin of South African Airways Flight 295 as it traversed the Indian Ocean. A fire had ignited in the rear main deck cargo hold. The pilots, in a successful maneuver, opened the aircraft doors mid-flight, venting the smoke. Despite their efforts, the plane crashed, and there were no survivors.
