Synopsis

The morning of April 3, 1996, saw a tragedy unfold near Dubrovnik Airport in Croatia. Heavy fog obscured visibility as a United States Air Force Boeing CT-43, attempting to land, veered off course and crashed into a mountain. All thirty-five individuals aboard perished, among them United States Secretary of Commerce, Ron Brown. The standard approach procedure for the flight demanded the use of two automatic direction finders; however, the aircraft was equipped with only a single unit.
