Synopsis

On August 14, 2005, air traffic controllers lost contact with Helios Airways Flight 522. Hellenic Air Force fighters intercepted and investigated the aircraft, discovering that all but one passenger was unresponsive. Moments later, the plane ran out of fuel and crashed, resulting in the deaths of all 121 people aboard. The pilots and passengers succumbed to hypoxia due to a misconfigured cabin pressurization system.
