Synopsis

Amidst the conflict of the Iran-Iraq War, a tragic incident occurred on July 3, 1988. The USS Vincennes fired missiles that resulted in the destruction of Iran Air Flight 655, claiming the lives of all 290 passengers and crew. The ship's crew asserted that advanced radar systems had misidentified the civilian airliner as an Iranian F-14 Tomcat fighter jet. Iran maintains that the United States intentionally targeted its passenger plane.
