Synopsis

On April 28, 1988, Aloha Airlines Flight 243, traveling from Hilo to Honolulu, Hawaii, suffered a catastrophic failure. The upper portion of the aircraft's front fuselage detached, resulting in the loss of a flight attendant. Despite this severe incident, the plane managed to land safely at Kahului, Maui. The structural failure was attributed to corrosion and metal fatigue.
