Synopsis

On January 25, 1990, Avianca Flight 52, en route to New York City from Colombia, experienced repeated delays due to adverse weather. As the aircraft attempted to land, it found itself critically low on fuel. Wind shear forced the crew to abort the approach mere miles from the runway.
