Synopsis

On December 24, 1994, Air France Flight 8969 was hijacked on the ground at Algiers Airport. The four terrorists demanded the plane be flown to Paris, intending to detonate it over the Eiffel Tower. However, the Algerian Army intervened, blocking the aircraft with vehicles and preventing its departure. Unable to execute their plan, the terrorists killed three passengers over the following two days. Eventually, the plane was cleared for takeoff, but the crew diverted to Marseille Provence Airport.
