Synopsis

On September 3, 1989, the crew of Varig Flight 254 inputted an erroneous heading into the aircraft's navigation system. Consequently, the plane veered westward, traversing a vast expanse until it hovered over a remote region of the Amazon rainforest. Efforts to locate and reach a viable airport proved futile, and the aircraft ultimately succumbed to a lack of fuel. The pilot executed an emergency landing in the jungle, a maneuver that resulted in the tragic loss of thirteen lives.
