Synopsis
On September 15, 1989, a National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration aircraft, en route to intercept Hurricane Hugo over the Caribbean, was struck by fierce winds. The turbulence caused one of its engines to ignite and fail. Despite the perilous situation, the pilots successfully executed an emergency landing.
