Synopsis
On June 18, 1972, British European Airways Flight 548 stalled and crashed in a field near Staines-upon-Thames shortly after departing London Heathrow Airport. All 118 people aboard perished in the accident. The cause was determined to be the pilot's failure to properly extend the aircraft’s flaps at an insufficient speed, compounded by a failure to recognize the stall warnings.
