Synopsis
On the morning of April 10, 2010, a Polish Air Force aircraft, configured as a VIP transport and carrying President Lech Kaczyński, his wife Maria Kaczyńska, and other prominent officials, crashed in a wooded area just before reaching the runway at Smolensk North Airport. The incident occurred during final approach, amidst dense fog and severely limited visibility. Tragically, all 96 people aboard – passengers and crew alike – perished in the accident.
