Synopsis

On the morning of October 2, 1996, not long after liftoff, the crew of Aeroperú Flight 603 found themselves disoriented by misleading speed and altitude indicators, coupled with conflicting alerts from the aircraft's air data system. Believing an emergency landing was necessary, they initiated a descent, inadvertently descending far below the intended altitude due to their reliance on the faulty readings. The Boeing 757 plunged into the water, resulting in the loss of all lives aboard.
