Synopsis
On February 24, 1989, United Airlines Flight 811 was traversing the Pacific Ocean when a section of its right-side fuselage was violently torn away. The sudden breach ejected nine individuals from the plane and triggered a rapid decompression. Despite the severity of the incident, the aircraft subsequently landed safely in Honolulu, with no further fatalities.
