Synopsis

Walter orchestrated a surprise birthday party for Maude, who was genuinely taken aback—and distinctly unhappy—to mark another year passed. Weary of the men drifting off in one group and the women in another, she made Walter vow to stay by her side throughout the evening. He didn't long remain true to his word, however, and Maude retreated to her bedroom, firmly refusing to emerge.
