Synopsis

Weary of her mother’s household and longing for Phillip to have a father, Carol resolves to propose marriage to a man she does not love. Simultaneously, Maude and Walter find that married life is far from idyllic; their escalating arguments culminate in a destructive scene within the kitchen.
