Synopsis

Walter and Maude traveled to Massachusetts for an appliance dealer’s convention. A mix-up with their hotel reservations landed them, not at the elegant establishment they’d anticipated, but in a rather rundown motel. It was there, amidst the less than luxurious surroundings, that an argument began when Maude attempted to share with Walter her feelings of emptiness and the difficulties she'd encountered seeking employment simply because she was a woman.
