Synopsis

Following the murder of Ed Tobias—who had recently revealed a ring of corrupt colleagues selling confiscated drugs—Lieutenant Brooks requests Matlock’s assistance in defending Johnny Bauer, the sole member of the unit seemingly untainted by the scandal. While pausing between games of catch with Conrad, Matlock reluctantly accepts the case, wrestling with the suspicion that Bauer, though ostensibly innocent, shares culpability for having remained silent amidst his colleagues' illicit activities.
