Synopsis

The Royal Naval College in Greenwich, with its magnificent Painted Hall, will host this year's Mastermind Final. The finalists are: Joe West, a helicopter pilot, who will be quizzed on Royal Navy History, 1794-1805; John McLeod, a local government officer, whose specialist subject is the Career of Oliver Cromwell; and Philip Jenkins, a research assistant, who will face questions on the History of Wales, AD 400-1100. The winner will be announced, with the runner-up also recognized.
