Synopsis

The competition was held with Magnus Magnusson at the University of Durham. The participants were: ALAN BRUFORD, an archivist, focused on the life and works of Handel; MARY KEAN, a housewife, specializing in Tolstoy; JOHN SYKES, a lexicographer, addressing the subject of Physics; and AMANDA HILL, a postal officer, presenting on British Saints.
