Synopsis

John Humphrys and the iconic black chair are back for a new season of television's most demanding quiz show. Over the coming thirty-one weeks, ninety-six contestants will be narrowed down to a single Mastermind champion. Tonight’s initial round features topics ranging from the Muppet films and Alexander the Great to the Biblical writings of St John and the life and work of Benjamin Britten.
