Synopsis

Tonight’s first-round competition features a diverse array of specialized topics, including the life and artistic output of Russian expressionist Vasili Kandinsky, Anthony Powell’s multi-volume novel series, *A Dance to the Music of Time*, the history of world outdoor athletics championships, and the story of David, the second king of Israel. The contest is overseen by question master John Humphrys.
