Synopsis

Magnus Magnusson of the University of Bristol presents four further lectures currently being showcased at the Victoria Rooms. Ian Mallinson, a retired schoolmaster, discusses the life and work of Antoine Lavoisier (1743-94). Graham Sleep, a smallholder and part-time farmer, examines battles fought on English soil between 1066 and 1685. Pam Stringer, a retired headmistress, explores the poetry of T.S. Eliot. And Peter McGowan, a building society clerk, presents a history of brass bands.
