Synopsis

The evening’s four speakers hail from the southern and western reaches of England, presenting their talks in the drama theatre of the College of St Mark and St John, Plymouth. Mira Little (retired) will discuss the life and films of Greta Garbo. Steve Priestley (a clerk at the House of Commons) will examine Sino-Soviet relations from 1949 to 1976. Joy Thwaytes (lecturer and writer) will present her work on John Stow and his survey of London. Geoffrey Dearnley (retired headmaster)
