Synopsis

The historic grounds of Christ's Hospital in Horsham host four competitors from London and the south-east, vying for a spot in the Mastermind semi-finals. Their specialist subjects are: Gery Bramall (translator), covering opera from 1780 to 1930; Jeff Wells (bookmaker), focusing on the life and paintings of J. M. W. Turner; Suzannah Harris (pharmacist), specializing in the life and novels of Nancy Mitford; and William Bellingham (schoolmaster), whose expertise lies in Nigeria, 1900 to 1966.
