Synopsis

Tonight’s edition of *Programme* is set in the Assembly Rooms, Derby, and marks a debut for Mastermind: a husband and wife competing head-to-head. Malcolm Seymour, a former clerk with British Rail, will face questions on English theatre of the period 1570-1620. Christine Hancock, a teacher, will explore the life and works of Rembrandt. Her husband, Paul Hancock, a police inspector, will be quizzed on the life and times of William Pitt the Elder (1708-1778). Completing the lineup is Michael L
