Synopsis

Magnus Magnusson of the National Railway Museum in York will judge a further four entries from northern England vying for a place in the semi-finals. These submissions include Brian Newton Elliot's opera, an architectural study of York Minster, Susan Millard’s collection of ‘Hebridean’ books by Lillian Beckwith, Francis Walker’s work on the Dissolution of the Monasteries (1523-40), and Colin Pickles’ exploration of the life and works of H. Rider Haggard.
