Terence Kane, a golf club manager, explored the life and writings of Lewis Carroll. Fr Stephen Ortiger, a Benedictine monk, considered the Jeeves and Wooster stories of P. G. Wodehouse. And Nicholas Slocombe, an executive officer, examined the history of American railroads from 1945 onward.
