I approached watching Marcella with some hesitation, but ended up finding it quite enjoyable. It felt like a standard television format, yet possessed genuinely strong writing and characters who seemed realistic—perhaps because they weren't particularly appealing people playing their parts. It offered a refreshing change from the predictable stream of series produced in Hollywood. Therefore, it held considerable value. I do hope the show concludes after two seasons though; continuing beyond that point might damage its quality.
