Synopsis

He moved through the Sierra Nevada, a solitary figure mirroring the plight of those lost within its vastness. Knife and canteen were his only companions as he navigated alpine meadows, dense woodlands, and arid chaparral. He attempted to subdue a wild horse, a futile effort, and consumed a live snake for sustenance. Drawing upon ancient knowledge of the Mono Indians, he cleaned his teeth with a manzanita leaf. Much of his journey followed the course of rivers, traversing the waters in a raft wov
