It will provide some enjoyment for those wanting to see familiar faces, but if you were hoping for a narrative that explores family problems as effectively as the original show did, then it likely won’t satisfy. I suspect much of this is due to practical considerations; getting so many actors together must be challenging, and the limited scenes featuring the entire family probably result from scheduling difficulties. It really felt like those moments were necessary. Everything seemed rather unimportant, and there was a notable lack of the usual chaotic family interactions. Also, I’m unsure if Malcolm in the Middle should ever have been sentimental, so its presence here is confusing. Nevertheless, it's brief and doesn't damage the overall series.
