This was dreadful, truly awful, and felt disrespectful to what came before. The characters' actions don’t track, the alterations seem completely unnecessary, and the narratives are dull and nonsensical. However, there's some action involved, and it does attempt to convey a political message; I believe that was the intention. This message seemed to be driving force behind the modifications, many of the plot developments, to such an extent that the stories felt secondary to it. In the end, it’s just absurd, though it might provoke some reaction from fans of the earlier version.
